How an air-cooled chiller works
One closed refrigerant loop, four stages. The same cycle runs inside every scroll and screw chiller we supply — only the compressor type, coil size and controls change.
Evaporator
Warm return water from the process gives up its heat to cold refrigerant and leaves as chilled water.
Compressor
The scroll or screw compressor raises the refrigerant vapour to high pressure and temperature.
Condenser
Axial fans draw ambient air across the finned coils; the hot gas condenses back into liquid.
Expansion valve
The liquid drops in pressure and temperature before returning to the evaporator to start again.
